In-House Powder Coating
Powder coating explained
Powder Coating is a method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of metal products that are used by both industries and consumers. Fine pigmented powder particles are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto the products to be coated. The charged particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until heated and fused into a smooth coating in a large batch oven. The result is a uniform, attractive, and durable finish that is substantially superior to wet paint finishes.
What we can powder coat
Any item made from metal (iron, aluminum, steel, copper, brass, bronze, titanium) can be powder coated. Some of our most popular items are patio furniture, automotive parts, iron railings, sculptures and art work, toys, industrial and commercial objects, sports equipment, home and garden items, and antiques.
How we prepare the item to be coated
Material preparation is key when it come to Powder Coating. We are the only company in Raleigh that can provide the following in-house prep solutions. Some objects may require additional handling and surface restoration before powder coating. We are able to sandblast large and small items in-house in order to remove old paint coat or rust. We can also repair rusted and bent items by welding, straightening, and grinding the item to bring it back to its originally intended shape. We are able to use chemicals such as degreasers and iron phosphate to etch iron and aluminum so the powder can achieve a superior adhesion.
